  • Prospective members are invited to visit one regular club meeting prior to making application for membership.
  • Upon receipt of a membership application, the Membership chair shall meet with the prospective member to review club procedures and module standards. Many club members will be happy to help with construction and technical problems if you wish.
  • New members must be app0roved by majority vote of the club officers.
  • There is a $25.00 entry fee for new members - not required for 2nd members of family.
  • Club meetings are held from 9:00 am to 3:P00 pm every other Saturday, September through May, at the Howland SCOPE.
  • Special assessments for the purchase of club owned equipment or for other extraordinary club expenses must be approved by a 2/3 vote of the membership.
  • Changes in procedures, module standards, or other club rules and/or regulations will be made by 2/3 vote of the membership with the exception of the Club Charter which may only be changed by unanimous vote of the Charter Members and Club Officers.
  • Inactive members will be contacted by the Membership Chair in an attempt to activate the member and/or determine the reason for their inactivity. Only in extreme cases where absence disrupts the functionality of the club will a member loose membership rights. This decision will be made by unanimous vote of the board of directors.
  • Should a member decide to quit the club they will maintain possession of their module(s). However, neither club equipment nor monies paid to the club for parts, dues, or assessments will be returned regardless of how long they have been a member.
  • All club assets (e.g. treasure, DCC systems, club owned filler modules, etc.) are the property of the club and not of any individual member(s).
  • If, at any time, the C&CC Railroad should dissolve, club assets will be auctioned to the highest bidders and the proceeds thereof in addition to the current treasury will be divided equally among currently active dues-paying members.
  • Only members are allowed inside the loop, spectators must remain outside the loop at all times. Members inside the loop should be inside for the purpose of model railroading, all socializing should be done outside the loop.
  • Certain individuals may be given an Honorary Membership. This membership will not require an initial payment of $25.00 or monthly dues and will therefore be free to the individual or individuals granted this type of membership as long. However, Honorary Memberships may only be granted by unanimous vote of the board of directors. In addition, Honorary Members may come to the meetings and participate but may not run trains and may not build modules.

Cars & Locomotives

Car Wheels: Steel is recommended but not mandatory.

Couplers: McHenry or Kadee knuckle couplers are required and must conform to a regulation height gauge when knuckle is relaxed.

Locomotives: Must be capable of running on DCC Layout.

Cars should be weighted as follows: One 1-1/2 ounce for every inch of car length or one ounce for each ten (10) scale feet of car length.

Identification color schedule: Identification colors allow you to identify items which belong to you. (should be placed on the underside of one of the trucks on engines and cars in addition to anything else which may need to be identified) (Contact the Club Secretary to get your color code.)

Acquired Engine Numbers: When running DCC, all engines must be assigned a number, usually the run number on the side of the engine. These numbers can only be used for one engine. If you have an engine or engines see the Club Secretary to reserve your acquired numbers.
